At least someone caught a nice fish, just had me week at my place in France and if I'd been in a match I'd have romped it banking at least 8 4 to 5lb ers and two 8lb odd fish with my biggest being 9lb 2oz, did hook into a couple bigger but they got off, my mate did well though and banked a lovely 19lb 8oz mirror, which pleased me as I know that its possible to catch the bigger fish I put in, they went mad for the luncheon meat and did ok with crab meat boilies, the bigg one was tempted on meat ...

regular members / visitors to the forum will notice quite a change to the amount of sections.

I have had a clear out to bring the forum back in line to which it was originaly intended as a carp forum, besides which many of the sections were no longer being used & this has helped to preserve bandwidth

a mate of mine has just bought the fox statos reels, I have to say I was'nt to keen on the idea of them as it's the first reel fox have produced but I was watching him playing a fish on one of them a little while ago & the clutch is so smooth, I could'nt believe what I was seeing

these reels are realy set to give shimano a run for their money IMO

Anyway, with the rising cost of fuel prices, will this affect your decisions on how far you want to travel to go fishing, up untill recently i have said no, but now i'm changing my mind.

With prices now heading towards the �1.40p a litre, and said to be in the �1.50s by August, i think it's time for me to get realistic and think of alternative venues that are closer to home rather than very long distances for which fuel costs are getting ridiculous. ...

On most waters we all fish we see Carp jump clear out of the water and wondered if anyone can give reasons for this.

I know there are loads of theories and one of those is that the Carp do this to clean themselves,which is what I thought was the reason.

this last year i have been useing bread balls haired (white bit only). seem towork better in the winter than the summer. i use thick sliced bread cut into 5/6 fingers of bread. rolled into a ball and haired its a simple as that. the plus points are its cheap and easy to get ,but use only the best bread wrapped not the cheap nasty stuff. so far caught over 200 carp various sizes 2llbs to 17lbs. okay not exactly monsters but bread and butter sized fish (joke) on the minus side of things ...

Hi guys, I'm off back to my lake in France in July and it will possibly be the last chance as we have now agreed a sale which will be done and dusted by November.

The lake has not been fished since the fish went in in November last year and I wondered what you all think about how it may fish now in the summer for the first time, do you think it will be too easy or do you think it will be hard.

I know the fishing over here is much different than the fishing over there, especially for carp. I got a taste of how hard the carp are to catch in Europe when I was stationed in Germany for 3 years, but I am curious about the carp fishing in England. hi there name is chris. well over 21. been carp fishin for 2 years. PB 22lbs mirror 20lbs ghostie 17lbs common.joined a syndicate a month ago live near brentwood essex wife and i usually fish together. she sits and falls asleep then has to leap up every so often when the alarm goes then back to sleep again But she is a blinder with the net. An angler disturbed 2 youths as they were attempting to steal his fishing gear. The 40yr old man was then grabbed and held at knife point whilst the other youth took his rods,reels,pod with alarms etc.,then both youths made off with the gear to a waiting van and cleared off at speed.
